Animal rights is concerned with individual animals, and their suffering and welfare. So now there are lots of lions, and they like buffalo, so now there are less buffalo. And since the lions like the big buffalo and not the smaller Nyala, the Nyala have increased in numbers.

To kill Violet Rays so I may eat her (or for any other reason other than to relieve her suffering) would be a betrayal, not to mention unnecessary. The same is true for cows, pigs, fishes, turkeys, chickens, buffaloes, sheeps, goats, and many other nonhuman animals whom we call "food." This is indeed a matter of conscience.

Cows and water buffaloes grazing the dried up lakebed under the imposing shadow of Mt. Scattered Pied Avocets , Spotted Redshanks in good numbers, cows and water buffaloes grazing, two Black Storks , bare mudbar and… a perched eagle! I opt for the bird richest section of the lake, visible from the eastern dyke.

Donna Fernandes, president of the Buffalo Zoo, witnessed a wake for a female gorilla, Babs, who had died of cancer at Boston’s Franklin Park Zoo. to live out their lives in peace, absent the abuse they had suffered in the entertainment industry. Shirley and Jenny, two female elephants, were reunited after living apart for 22 years.
