Whenever I come here, I am focused on birds, but I have had some good mammal sighting as well: a roe deer swimming across a pond (only its head and antlers visible), a pair of otters playing in the water, a curious (young?) These handsome finches breed in the far north of Europe and come here for the winter only.

An April Weekend of New York City Birding

Besides, suffering brings birds, right? Though I will grudgingly admit that a few of the birds we saw were alright, like the Northern Gannets in the bay and the Horned Grebes in breeding plumage. Well, I did see a bunch of year birds but they were almost all shorebirds. What the? It can’t be! PRAIRIE WARBLER !!!
