They did flush eventually, but not because of humans. I’m not sure why all the birds scattered at its approach, Frigatebirds are known for stealing the catch of other birds, not for killing elegant, cinnamon-chested Avocets, but scatter they did and only a couple of hundred came back down. If there are human fishing activities then all the better – Marabous will gather in numbers around fishermen’s docks and fish markets, in fact anywhere where fish are cleaned and scraps disposed of, allowing these intelligent birds to obtain a free meal.

Azure-winged Magpies are cooperative breeders, and it seems that there is a connection between having a larger repertoire of calls and being a social species (me, not being very social, I usually get by with just three different grunting sounds). for a sample of more than 800 species ( source ). At least as far as the male is concerned.
