You may also talk to your vet or place an ad in his office. Before abandoning a pet, try to find another home for it. An animal shelter or animal rescue center are good options.

In fact, according to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, 5 to 7 million pets are taken into animal shelters in the U.S. Vet visits – Some foster pets will have had very poor nutrition or certain medical conditions that have not been properly addressed depending on the circumstances from where they came.

A feral kitten captured and neutered by a small non-profit, somewhat militant organization, was on display at our local Massachusetts Society Prevention of Cruelty Association branch, which often took these feral cats in the hope of finding homes for them.
