This is very bad news for a group that is largely nocturnal and has adapted to a secretive lifestyle, and is thus best detected by its tracks and signs. This small pine tree was very recently demolished by a brown bear. species found only around the Mediterranean or in Europe’s Southeast.

In trying to find further evidence of the warbler’s behaviour and the sapsucker’s lifestyle, I found numerous mentions of Rufous Hummingbirds and “other species” coming to feed from sap wells. Does he vigorously defend his food source? Do warblers regularly visit sap wells?
