This past weekend I was disconnected from the internet, stuck in the woods without electricity, reduced to sleeping in a shelter made of fabric, and cooked meals over an open fire. However, even now, the ancient movements of birds between summer breeding grounds and tropical wintering places have been taking place in Costa Rica. While she foraged, an Eastern Wood-Pewee was giving that same old lazy summer call I used to hear in upstate New York. It can and does work !
