Apparently, when breeding, the two parents divide incubation duties, with one bird taking over the daytime duties and another one the nighttime. Tiphys died either of a snakebite or of a mysterious illness but he was not killed by either a tiger or a rhinoceros. At between 4 pm and 6 pm, to be exact. Lucky him, right?

The reason for this particular camera is that I need a camera that takes AA batteries for when we are away from power for weeks on end and is not too large for travelling. There are Japanese made Eneloop Pro AA batteries that will last for over 1000 photos quite easily nowadays, so this is my ideal camera. Birding Port Melbourne Beach.
