In trying to find further evidence of the warbler’s behaviour and the sapsucker’s lifestyle, I found numerous mentions of Rufous Hummingbirds and “other species” coming to feed from sap wells. Does he vigorously defend his food source? Do warblers regularly visit sap wells? The sapsucker was seen first.
