I got to see a beautiful female and owlet on a trip to a secret nest location near Howard Prairie Lake (human-made nest structures have enhanced local breeding for these huge owls whose nest success is boosted to 83% on artificial platforms vs. 66% at natural sites). the scene where Jochen’s saw his BBOTY – a Bat Hawk.

Of course, various species of bats as well. In a couple weeks I’ll be keeping my ears alert for the flight calls of incoming shorebirds, they shall definitely be followed by a Peregrine Falcon. Life here is experiencing a boon in the face of encroaching human activity, at least in my immediate vicinity.
