So I contacted him for the exact location, which turned out to be a beautiful 14-acre property that belongs to his family, and he kindly invited me over. And I did, in fact, see the Great Horned Owl , however briefly, as it flew away from what is apparently its standard perch. That’s 100% Barn Owl butt, right there.

Best Bird of the Weekend (First of March 2011)

I had a beautifull view on 5 horned grebe here (one in breeding plumage), in Ann Arbor Michigan, for the 3 seconds it lasted, until I heard a huge “CRRACK&# , and I fell through the ice. When I first saw it I thought it might be a snowy or a barn owl because it was almost white. And my first Killdeer of year!

My 10 Best Birds for 2021

This is the only migratory warbler to live entirely within Mexico, breeding in the northeast and wintering in the southwest. His family’s 7 hectares (17 acres) of wooded land includes a lovely grassy marsh. Including a bonus Great Horned Owl and a Barn Owl certainly was a nice touch. also from my garden.

A Barn Owl slept peacefully on the inside of the roof of a well-visited tourist cafe. It warned me not to order the latte though – overpriced and not very good, according to the owl. For some reason, the largest member of the heron family is not called the Great Heron nor the Giant Heron but rather the Goliath Heron.
