Frankly, if the name of the Bald Eagle was North Korean Eagle ( Haliaeetus coreaseptentrionalis ?), It is not quite clear why they do this as it apparently does not affect breeding success. Apparently, birds that are fast in exploring new things – bold birds – are better at rejecting parasitic eggs ( source ).

The first guide bearing the National Audubon Society imprint was Audubon Bird Guide; Eastern Land Birds , written by Richard Hooper Pough, and illustrated by Don Eckelberry. Bald Eagle, for example, is still said to be “formerly more widespread” though the range map shows expansion.

Though the coast of British Columbia, a part of the Great Bear Rainforest, was rich in both, it was appallingly deficient in scientific data. The species was seemingly killed off by feather hunters, but then, after years, reappeared at the site of one of the deserted breeding colonies, Torishima Island in Japan.
