Kristof (column, April 9): Thank you for this inspiring and enlightening article. Animals raised for food suffer miserably. Animal agriculture is inherently inhumane. After time in the Marines, I veered strongly away from eating creatures, thinking of their suffering. I was 4 or 5, and I cringed.
