This is all about making the stupid state friendly to the biotech industry. Tags: animal research biotech arizona. Supposedly people either 1) believe the State has no place overseeing labs (USDA does that) and 2) bioscience is already very well-regulated. They get a huge tax break?

Last week there was a slew of articles about the agreement in Ohio between the farm industry and animal welfare activists to expand cage sizes for calves (veal), hens and pigs. Similar limits were approved last year in Michigan and less sweeping restrictions have been adopted in Florida, Arizona and other states.

Gregory is the president and CEO of UEP, an industry trade group. Throughout UEP’s annual meeting speakers cautioned that Prop 2’s passage would be a major blow to the industry. The ballot initiative was the dominating topic of the meeting, where it was said that up to $50 million will be needed to successfully fight it.

We here at 10,000 Birds dedicated the month of February to highlighting a variety of birding tourism companies, destinations, and guides.
