Because I've been thinking about the evolution of my own thinking--and languaging--regarding animal rights. Both animal rights groups and animal welfare groups use "compassion" frequently. Then again, so do people who kill animals for a living. After all, they "love" the animals they kill. Or vegan pumpkin pie.

How ridiculous is it that " On the Psychological Continuum ," to say nothing of an article against rabbit fur, is on the same page as Gabriella's Fur Den? The ads I see today have nothing to do with animal cruelty--the opposite is true. I may have just gotten myself fired from Animal Rights Zone. Or perhaps it's my lucky day.

Hence the psychological continuum described (below) by Austria's Association Against Animal Factories from about a year ago. Hence, what we need from this point onwards is psychology and not philosophy. How about this?

In my earlier post "Children and Heart Disease" available here , I noted that, in the seventh and final edition of Dr. Spock's Baby and Child Care: A Handbook for Parents of the Developing Child from Birth to Adolescence , Dr. Benjamin Spock no longer recommends feeding animal products to children after two years of age. The answer is "Yes."

Most moral vegetarians list fish and fowl as animals one should not eat. Vegan vegetarians who eat only vegetables, fruit, and nuts do not completely remove all microorganisms from their food, even with repeated cleaning. First, it may be argued that only animals who can feel pain are not to be eaten. What is forbidden meat?
