Portugal is NOT known for its kindness to animals so this is a significant development for a Portuguese city. Brief commentary follows this e-mail I received regarding greyhounds, animal rights and Ireland. Back then I was a young child and never thought any different about greyhounds or indeed any other animal. He would not return for many hours.
