I remember reading about them as a huge hit but saw an article today saying that Tian Tian (the female) was recalled to China and retired because she developed a fear of people likely due to being on display for so long in the zoo. Wondering if anyone has further information or insight around this?

Pandas are my favorite animal. zoos have pandas (Washington DC zoo and Zoo Atlanta). Obviously they normally don’t let visitors close up to animals but it’s my dream to pet a panda just once. How do I convince them to let me pet my favorite animal? I wanna feel their fur.

Two giant pandas made their way from China to ZooParc de Beauval in France today. FedEx Express donated services to transport the giant pandas in a special plane named the “FedEx Panda Express”! Currently, conservationists estimate that only 1,600 pandas remain in the wild.
