The soft thing that I accidentally had kicked was indeed the hedgehog. He curled to a ball and I first decided to turn the light off and leave space to him so that I stress the hedgehog as little as possible. I immediately started to reflect how much I potentially damaged the hedgehog. They are just so relaxed.

England’s Muntjac are all descended from a small number of animals released by the 11th Duke of Bedford in his park at Woburn, in Bedfordshire, in the early years of the 20th century. Rather more are killed in collisions with cars.

They are not necessarily the biggest African animals, but represented those that were considered a real hunter’s worthy prey or “game” – the African Elephant, Cape Buffalo, Black Rhinoceros, Leopard and king of the jungle, the Lion (which of course doesn’t inhabit jungle but savanna!).
