If you put some animals (both wild and domestic) on an island and left them there to roam free and we come back after a few years who would survive. Would suprisngly rodents and small animals. The ones who would last until the very end would be lions , tigers bears, eagles and wolves. Horses have a good chance.

But it wasn’t founded to serve as a refuge for human refugees, but animal ones, specifically elephants. The park did have a pack of African Wild Dogs, or Painted Wolves, the species I had gone to Africa to see. It was founded as a safe place for refugees from the Mozambique Civil War , which ran from 1977 to 1992.
