Portugal is NOT known for its kindness to animals so this is a significant development for a Portuguese city. Brief commentary follows this e-mail I received regarding greyhounds, animal rights and Ireland. Every day myself and other 'friends' went out of our way to terrify the poor helpless dog that used to live in this filthy run down shed for shelter. He would not return for many hours.
