Thankfully, there are some organizations out there that make it their business to look after and care for our animal counterparts. Despite efforts by animal rights activists to stop this hunt, it is scheduled to continue. New Jersey’s first bear hunt in five years is just a week away and set to go on as planned despite a last-ditch effort by several animal rights organizations to have the hunt postponed. That really sucks. It's a cull to "control the population."

Here are my initial thoughts, though: "Animal Protection." On the upside, you don't have to give any money to animal protection if your beliefs aren't represented by the choice of groups being supported. I think my favorite part of FBB is parent education and support for nontheistic parents. Just a thought.

I'm behind on my email and only just read this action alert from the Animal Legal Defense Fund. Less than one year ago, Puerto Rico enacted a landmark animal protection law, based in part on a set of model laws drafted by the Animal Legal Defense Fund. From the ALDF action alert page.

Brief commentary follows this e-mail I received regarding greyhounds, animal rights and Ireland. Back then I was a young child and never thought any different about greyhounds or indeed any other animal. He would not return for many hours. Thinking back still touch's me to the point where I feel so guilty-but I knew no different.
