I don't support animal research and I have no sympathy for animal researchers. I don't believe they are working for human welfare. I don't believe they want an honest dialogue about what they are doing to animals. I don't believe they are "brave" for "standing up" to animal rights activists.

It's a book about societal collapses resulting from poor decisions about the environment, resource-use, etc. This is one of the reasons why we are still on the losing end of the battle with animal researchers. And those scientists are humans with the same motivations and agendas as any other human.

I've decided to quit my book club, which I dearly love, because of a member who works in medical research and supports animal experimentation. Then I read more about what's happening at the New Iberia Research Center in Louisiana. Here's a post from Animals and Politics. And I can't do it anymore. :-(.
