The dogs had been left to starve, no food, water or even shelter from freezing temperatures. Sadly, there were also 27 dead dogs found on the property. It is believed that the dogs were part of a dog fighting ring. “They bear the battle scars consistent with those of fighting dogs,&# Rickey said.

At ARAN many of our volunteers work day and night fighting animal abuse- -we're simply asking you for just two hours during our week of action against the Greyhound industry in Ireland.

Causing an animal to suffer for no good reason is cruel, and our ordinary commonsense morality tells us in no uncertain terms that cruelty is wrong. A brief look at the public outcry concerning Michael Vick’s dog-fighting ring shows just how widely accepted premise (1) is. Animal abuse is a crime in all fifty states, and rightly so.
