It saddens me, and I find it extremely disturbing, that a five-year old child is giddy, and his parents (and the journalists on this program) are so pleased that he killed a 35-40-year old alligator. Let's deconstruct a few details: The young boy shot the alligator, who had been trapped , in the head and killed him. To be fair (!),

For me, the focus on culture and tradition is basically an excuse for "anything goes" when it comes to animals. Are the kids cooking monkey, cat, dog, alligator or turtle? I wonder how much they learn about the animals other cultures eat. (In Tags: Activism Current Affairs Ethics. But I bet anything doesn't go.
