I’ve been to this part of central Alabama before, but always during hunting season, my schedule built around the ridiculously early mornings (i.e. Alabama creek flowing through the woods. The Nonessential Whooping Crane

Over the winter, the universe lost four whooping cranes to what appears to be recreational shooting: three gunned down together in Georgia on December 30, 2010, and another in Alabama on January 28, 2011. More states will doubtless join the queue of those proposing hunts. Another thing to consider. Now, it’s time to go to the top.
