Kotze said Jordaan had apparently doing "stem cell research" to help people walk again after a friend of his had been paralysed in an accident. Jordaan allegedly submitted a research application to the University of the Free State, but its animal ethics committee rejected it. He was told to rewrite and resubmit it.

Birding Hluhluwe, South Africa

Hluhluwe–Imfolozi Park is the oldest proclaimed nature reserve in Africa – it was established in 1895. I guess most scientists would love to see their original research become the basis for a vast field of further studies. Work ethics among Yellow-billed Kites seem to vary a lot between individuals. Poor creatures.
