Current Adoption Update: Dog/Puppy 467,015. Total estimated adoptions 878,812. million pets were adopted last year alone!

Back on the bank it gave itself a doggy shake to dry out and held its feathers slightly raised from its body to help them dry, making itself look even bigger than it already was. Using the ubiquitous Great Egret as a reference, the Goliath Heron is half a meter taller (from bill-tip to toe) and four times as heavy.

The results will inform a vision document to be adopted in July 2011 at a national conference to guide the NWR system for wildlife protection into the next decade and beyond.
