A parent bird’s instinct to feed and protect their young is very strong, and they will not willingly abandon their babies. Putting a baby bird back in its nest is not always the right thing to do. It needs to be properly medicated and triaged. Most likely the bird will need to be medicated for a few days “just in case.”.

Scientist Advocacy Group Oppose Some Animal Testing

I found a link to them on ANIMAL's blog (ANIMAL is a Portuguese animal rights group.) These scientists are NOT an animal rights group. Here's a group I've never heard of. They do support some animal-based studies (which sucks); HOWEVER, they acknowledge that much animal research is useless.
