Abandoning Dogs Neglecting Stray

So my friends have 3 dogs in a small home but with a good sized backyard. They love there dogs and are amazing owners. A few days ago a stray showed up and they took him in. Apparently the owners have multiple dogs and let them roam around the neighborhood wherever they want. Any advice?

Some were abused or neglected. If you work full time and already have a dog, you can always request a dog-friendly foster pet who is house-trained. That could involve teaching a dog to stay off the couch or walk better on leash, or teaching a cat to welcome other pets or to play, or simply to teach trust and love.
