Had they been able to make the jawbone talk, no doubt its first words would be, “You can’t put a baby bird back in the nest, because the parents will smell your hands and abandon it.”. s and “Kill me now!”s. A parent bird’s instinct to feed and protect their young is very strong, and they will not willingly abandon their babies. Mites will eventually kill the bird. Bird brought in by a cat or dog. Suspect” dog or cat interactions. Unfortunately a bird’s nest location is not always perfect. Baby bird with lots of mites.

Not long after the move my friend and I were walking our dogs, early in the morning, when the dogs discovered something tiny lying in the middle of the sidewalk. Just to make sure, however, I shooed the dogs away and checked it out. Four several years, I’ve been a volunteer at a Wildlife Rehabilitation Center.
