…a City Council committee voted 5-0 to recommend a new law that in essence licenses the care and feeding of free-roaming cats as part of a larger effort to reduce their numbers. Free-roaming cats will hunt and kill birds, small mammals, reptiles, amphibians and fish, resulting in wildlife mortality. What would success look like?

That at least would be a start till our society puts a higher value on the lives and existence of our furry friends, till the law stands up for our 4-legged buddies, till shelters are no longer overflowing with the unwanted. Fostering is a wonderful experience. It is always helpful if the foster also promotes the pet to their contacts.

My mother-in-law, sister, and sisters-in-law are additional marvelous mothers and I don’t wish to cause any of them any offense. Nor is it fair to the birder who might end up with great looks at a lifer but will be wracked by guilt for abandoning a mother on her special day. *Or,
