Sarah Atlas is a search-and-rescue dog handler, one of many civilian volunteers who serve with New Jersey Task Force 1. Shortly after arrival, her group got the call that the dogs were needed. Sarah reports that everyone was so kind: “The janitorial staff at the Javits Center even brought in bones for the dogs.”.

The dog-loving owners of the property in Julian where he sought refuge rushed him to the local veterinarian, who informed them that if his leg was amputated, he could live as an indoor cat. Cathy and Donna, the staunchly dog-only people, decided to bring the kitten home with them to help him heal after the successful amputation of his leg.

A little further, there’s a family group of Savannah Elephants with two two-year olds. Those that crossed the road first are waiting for the rest of the group at the other side. Painted Dogs are already extinct in 25 out of 39 countries that they used to inhabit. The first to cross is an old female with a two-year old baby.

Right before Christmas on December 23rd, orphan dogs and cats available for adoption visited the New York Stock Exchange to ring the closing bell and raise awareness for pet adoption! Also joining the group was the Iams Home 4 the Holidays Adoption Angel Jack with his adopted dog Jane (Jack adopted Jane from Bideawee in October).
