We worship birds, we hunt birds, we protect birds, and, yes, we eat birds. As they say, the relationship is complicated.

Fox joined the Achiever around 2007 (one of the few failings of the book is that it doesn’t specify the exact year (or years) of her voyages; it’s not clear if the book is the account of a chronological year or an amalgamation of several years). And, this was badly needed.

Although this park was logged in the past, as a national park it is one of the few forests in Ghana that is really protected. . million hectares in 2007. All these forests are in “protected” forest reserves, however at some, logging permits are reportedly being issued for harvesting of these forests. What makes Ghana so special?
