But for seven hours on Friday night, at a restaurant appropriately known as Animal, three chefs presented an eight-course meal that was nothing short of a glorification of this soon-to-be-outlawed delicacy. It was served with veal tongue, yogurt, prosciutto, mustard ice cream and truffles.

I spent years forcing people to look at photos of bludgeoned baby seals, "veal" calves in crates and skinned animals. As far as I know, all I accomplished was presenting myself as an angry person who people didn't want to talk to again. I always used the words "flesh" and "enslavement." I don't think any of that was wrong, per se.
