Caught at the airport in Mexico City, he had 18 of these monkeys and two of them were dead. Tags: wildlife smuggling mexico primates endangered species.

Like Kapiti the island is an offshore refuge for many species extinct on the mainland, with a lot of the work being done by the voluntary Supporters of Tiritiri Matangi. One species I really hoped to find on the trip was the Kokako. Fish & Wildlife comes in response to a lawsuit brought by the Center for Biological Diversity.
