Marine life. One of the worst pictures I've ever seen is of a seal with its stomach cut open and a mess of plastic inside. The protection of marine animals may fall under "environmentalism," but these are artificial divisions. Here's a short opinion piece on plastics and marine life. And who ingests them?

I only saw a few species I could get in the small park near where I was staying, and not even as many as I could have gotten there. The objective wasn’t even birds, it was fur seals. My brother is in town for a few days so I decided to take him to Red Rocks on Wellington’s South Coast to look at the seal haul out.

Dead Sea Lions in Puget Sound - Again

The animal protection group Seal Sitters says a necropsy showed that the sea lion had suffered a shark bite and had twisted intestines in addition to a bullet wound. KING says one of the Nisqually casualties was a Steller sea lion, protected under the Endangered Species Act. Investigators say they do not know who is responsible.
