Tadoba Andhari Tiger Reserve: the Tiger Afternoon

A winding track through dense woodlands takes us to the Telia Lake in the southeast of the Tadoba Tiger Reserve in Maharashtra. There’s a Three-striped Palm Squirrel by the side of the track, while Jungle Bush Quails are running across it in front of our Maruti Gypsy, almost the official safari vehicle of India. He has earned his tip.

Poop From The Front End Of The Bird

I took home a few of the pellets and found that the owls were feasting on grey squirrels and cottontail rabbits. There was also a mammal jawbone in the pellet too. I wasn’t as interested in the mammal jawbone, but it totally piqued his interest. I was intrigued…what could that beak be from?

Panama Trip Report: April 2017

10,000 Birds

Despite the golf course, this place host all manner of birds and mammals. In fact, we saw two species of monkey, our only sloths, lots of coatis, and my rarest ever mammal sighting—a Jaguarundi —right on site. Rufescent Tiger-Heron. Squirrel Cuckoo . All in all, the Radisson Summit delivered what we all wanted.
