Endless notifications about 3% of intact forest remaining here, another species falling into the endangered species category – it all can get overwhelming sometimes. Bananaquits and Golden-headed Manakins twittered and whirred constantly but any visual confirmation was only achieved with the former species.

Birding beyond Brisbane

By 6am we had our first Australian Brush-Turkey as shown in the above photograph and the list was soon started. Laughing Kookaburras with Australian Brush-Turkey in the background at a campsite. The absolute highlight was when I heard leaf litter being thrown about. Apostlebirds drying off.
