But I will say that this attention on her turkey slaughter interview is a bit hypocritical. Sure, there was a turkey being ground up behind her, but, come on. That is the reality of where Thanksgiving turkey dinners come from. It's ugly, bloody killing and that animal has to get to your plate somehow.

I realize that the most humane method of treating chickens is to not kill them for food.BUT, as long as there is still a demand for their meat, PETA is advocating "Controlled-Atmosphere Killing" as an improvement over current methods of electric immobilization. He asked whether cows, chickens, sheep and some of the other animals that we eat are usually treated and killed in a humane manner. The meat industry will say yes, of course, all animals are treated and killed humanely. The eventual kill is quick, clean, and painless. It's a thoughtful question I wish more people would ask.

There will be no greyhound corpse on our table, no turkey corpse and no pig corpse. When in the position of having the choice, which so far is always, I'd rather choose not to have someone killed for me. This is a tough one to even dignify as it's not a good reason for killing someone. All it takes is a decision.

We kill so many living creatures when we build a house, construct a road, drive down that road or just walk on a path.
