The zoo, surely, carries responsibility for deficiencies in its enclosure. In light of this horrible incident, is it right for the zoo to carry on a breeding program that subjects more animals to such unnatural lives? Further, did those who reacted so strongly to Harambe’s killing go home and serve meat to their children?

Donna Fernandes, president of the Buffalo Zoo, witnessed a wake for a female gorilla, Babs, who had died of cancer at Boston’s Franklin Park Zoo. I also watched a red fox bury her mate after a cougar had killed him. Stories about animals rescuing members of their own and other species, including humans, abound.

I will address two of them in the new year, namely, “Is hunting moral at all?” Most of the people debating this issue are for conservation, they are against wild areas being destroyed and wild species being threatened with extinction. Perhaps it would be better to move the tigers to that bigger reserve, or maybe a zoo.

While the species favors forested hills at moderate elevations ( source ), there are no hills at all here at Nanhui, so maybe these individuals are outcasts or just eccentrics.
