As you first walk down the paths (or even park) the dominant species is not a bird but Eastern Grey Kangaroos, and lots of them. Also present were other parrots, including the gorgeous King Parrots , the dashing Galah and the Eastern Rosella. Campbell Park, Canberra.

And one final treat was a Musky Rat-kangaroo , the smallest member of the macropod (kangaroo and wallaby) suborder, no bigger than a guinea-pig. The flowering trees on the road through town are a good place to find Dusky Honeyeaters, Rainbow Lorikeets and Figbirds , and the stunning Red-winged Parrot is also present in the town.
