That’s an old wives’ tale that says bird won’t take care of a baby bird with a human smell on it–not true at all.

There’s a Three-striped Palm Squirrel by the side of the track, while Jungle Bush Quails are running across it in front of our Maruti Gypsy, almost the official safari vehicle of India. The closer one raises her head, than lies back. Telia yawns, raises and sprays her urine on a dead tree stump, marking her territory.

Spotlight: Lisa Beth Acton, Raising Ravens

This summer Lisa raised three orphaned Common Ravens. They were not aware of wildlife laws, and thought they could raise and release them. We decided to raise them, and hoped they would wild up quickly if we followed the protocol for avoiding imprinting. A few weeks ago squirrel was hit by a car in front of my house.
