One final surprise was a Green Ringtail , an endemic possum. The lake is also home to the Saw-shelled Turtle, which is easy to see from the shore. Saw-shelled Turtle ( Myuchelys latisternum ) My pessimism about the place was short-lived, however. They are usually pretty hard to see.
