One final surprise was a Green Ringtail , an endemic possum. The lake is also home to the Saw-shelled Turtle, which is easy to see from the shore. Saw-shelled Turtle ( Myuchelys latisternum ) My pessimism about the place was short-lived, however. One the reptile front a small Lace Monitor high up a tree was a pretty cool spot.
