Jumping out of my “Beat” today

Let me start off with being quite clear, there are no grizzly Bears on the Baja! In addition to the Grizzly Bears , I was able to photograph Woodland Buffalo , squirrels, deer, Red Fox , and even a herd of Yaks. Gold-crowned Sparrows were found around many of the salmon filled streams. Savanah Sparrow.

A Birder’s Guide To…INDOCTRINATION

As you read this, I am riding my trusty Grizzly Bear through the backcountry of Yellowstone National Park, helping my colleague Seagull Steve find some new birds. Birding by bear is by far the best way to view the park, although it seems to terrify the hoofed animals. Good day to you, my fine fellow birders.

Little Big Year Week 33: Yellowstone

Crows, Ravens, Clark’s Nutcrackers, White-crowned Sparrows and assorted waterfowl were all still present, but that was about it. This can cause up to 20 minute waits, which I put to good use, tracking down this nice shot of a White-crowned Sparrow. You know, the Bison, Elk, Bears and Wolves.

And it’s a wrap….

I caught this Lark Sparrow at San Blas, near Magdalena Bay , just as the sun was setting. While in Kodiak Alaska, I did get a few very nice Kodiak Grizzly Bear shots. This large bear was chasing salmon, and paid me little or no attention. I must have keep 400 images in the file of just this one species.
