The Alkali Lakes was a different matter, with a good bunch of birds, including Ring-bill Gulls, Mallards, Blue-wing Teal, green-wing Teal, Killdeer, Baird’s Sandpipers, red-wing Blackbirds, Osprey, Trumpeter Swans and Canada Geese. You know, the Bison, Elk, Bears and Wolves. OK, I know it is cheesy, but the picture just caught my eye!

Here is her description of migrating Snow Geese: I’d seen snow geese at great distances offshore or far overhead, but here they are passing me by, low on the water, where the wind speed is lessened. Ahead on the water, I see roughly 200 tired snow geese settled together in a single, densely packed group.

I saw Painted Wolves again, my favourite species ever. The standout was the Cape Barren Goose , which not only has an awesome name but is also thought to be the last survivor of a lineage of geese that used to forage the grasslands of Antarctica before the whole place got all icy. I went to Ethiopia. I bought a house.
