But hedgehogs? Part of the world they wanted to transport was natural. Brush-tailed Possums were brought from Australia to help start a fur industry. We don’t have monkeys, or wildebeest, or salmon here. What is surprising is quite how many species did end up here, and how economically unimportant they were.
