The Common Buzzards , for example, who usually hunt by circling high above the landscape, will hover in kestrel fashion much more frequently. The kestrels , on the other hand, will more frequently hunt from low perches. But of course the mammalian meat eaters will be happy too and reproducing like there’s no tomorrow.

Dr Scott Roberton, head of Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS), said that hunting wild animals for meat and trafficking had been happening in many countries, especially developing ones. In Viet Nam, hunting and trade in wild animals had been alarming, he said. But the problem is the high demand for these products.

In the Far East they keep birds of prey which they use to capture other animals such as foxes and rabbits. The quail, guans, ducks and pheasant are hunted for their meat. Many birds around the world in the Robin family ( Turdidae ) are favorites due to their musical songs.
