The group was formed to protest the activities of Huntingdon Life Sciences in Franklin Township, N.J. Huntingdon used mostly mice and rats , but also some dogs, monkeys, fish and guinea pigs , in its research in New Jersey.

The eating of non-grain-eating animals, e.g., fish and wild game, is morally permissible on this view. For example, protesting the government’s food policies by wearing buttons, putting ads in the New York Times , or writing one’s congressman would seem to have greater educational value than not eating meat (question 2).

of Fish and Wildlife Commissioner Jon Gassett has indicated that if enough people write in protest, the proposed hunting season–due to start this December– will be reconsidered.
