Not only are the individual ducks hard to look at, but in groups, the feral populations create the same messes other masses of waterfowl do. Every March, hope springs anew that I’ll cross paths with one of these feral fluffballs, but as April ends, so do another year’s delirious dreams. Cats Are Still Public Enemy Number One, For Birds The New York Times and Tweety have it absolutely correct. I finally saw a saw-whet ! Wicked, right?
