Humans, and the rats, pigs, goats, dogs, cats, snakes, mosquitos and disease they bring with them have wiped out species after species on islands. Tibbles did contribute, but it was a population of feral cats that did the bulk of the killing. Often without predators, or at least without land based mammalian predators.
